Vancouver Island University’s (VIU’s) View Gallery is excited to host F23N14, its VIU faculty exhibition.
The exhibit runs until October 6, with a reception on Thursday, September 21 from 5 to 7 pm. Many of VIU’s faculty artists will be present and everyone is welcome.
Works in painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, sculpture and video from professors in the Visual Art, Graphic Design, Interior Design and Earth Science programs make up this exciting exhibition with plenty for the eyes to feast on. The faculty exhibit is held every two years.
Participating artists: Gregory Ball, Jane Cole, Kenneth Chooi, Chai Duncan, Jason Gress, Brad Harris, Sandra Johnstone, Heather Kai-Smith, Scott Leaf, Amber Morrison-Fox and Matthew Fox, Kevin Mazutinec, Justin McGrail, Nancy Pagé, Adrian Robertshaw, Klehwetua Rodney Sayers and Pamela Speight.
The View Gallery is VIU’s contemporary art gallery on VIU’s Nanaimo campus, which is built on the traditional unceded territory of the Snuneymuxw people.
The gallery presents a spectrum of visual art and design, made by professional artists, students and community members. A non-commercial site, the gallery presents a mixture of programming and art events that range from curated solo and group exhibitions, touring exhibitions and annual showcases of student art. The View Gallery is run and staffed by faculty members and students in the Art and Design department, within the faculty of Arts and Humanities.
The View Gallery is open Tuesday to Friday, from 10 am to 4 pm during exhibits. It is in Building 330, 900 Fifth Street, Nanaimo, BC. Entrance 5D.
