For the third year in a row, Vancouver Island University has received the BC Top Employer Award from the Canada’s Top 100 Employers program. Among the reasons given for the recognition were the tools available to employees to encourage health and wellness, specifically citing mental health care options like MindwellU. VIU’s focus on recognizing employee excellence and achievement through in-house awards in a variety of categories was also noted. Efforts to enhance access and inclusion was indicated as an area of strength.
“Recognitions like these belong to all VIU employees. They are indicative of our culture and where we, as a group, choose to put our energy and resources,” says Dan VanderSluis, Associate Vice-President. “In the particularly challenging times we have all experienced since the COVID-19 pandemic began, I want to thank our employees for their ongoing efforts and support of our students.”
VIU is one of 100 employers across BC to receive this honour. The recipients are published in the Vancouver Sun and on online platforms.
