If you have been involved with an employee search committee, then you have used VIU’s applicant tracking system, Hireserve. This platform is nearing its three-year anniversary with VIU and, despite its many powerful features, it was time for an upgrade (how time flies when it comes to technology). Enter the new and improved Hireserve, which has just been updated, receiving a new look and feel to the dashboard with improved functionality.
Hireserve now boasts a more intuitive flow, a simplified hierarchy of information and an easier-to-navigate display. With these new changes, even occasional users will find the updated Hireserve provides an enhanced experience. Here are just a few of the changes you will see that make Hireserve faster and easier to use:
- Clearer information across the site – no more wondering where to click next
- More intuitive user interface – clearer icons means less concern about making errors
- Improved searchability – fewer clicks get you to where you need to be in the platform
- Optimized interview scheduler – one button shows all the interview information you need
- Enhanced evaluation features for search chairs – see candidate rankings and rationale with one simple click
Other great changes you can expect to see on the new look platform include the replacement of the unpopular thumbs up/down candidate ranking system with a colour coded rating system – now look for green, yellow and red coding options. It’s a cleaner, smarter candidate rating interface that users will find simpler and more intuitive.
Search committee tools have been made more intuitive and efficient, making the system easier to navigate. Hiring managers will now be able to see their search committee ratings of candidates, including the rationale, in one convenient place. These changes, along with a more powerful search feature, allow Search Committee Chairs to see the content they need, when they need it to help make an informed decision.
The refreshed Hireserve will be launched on November 18, 2021. Instructional material to support users is available on the Human Resources website. Instructional videos and tip sheets to guide the user experience will be available on the Human Resources webpage. Watch for a note in the VIU Digest for when the new-look Hireserve is live.
