Three students walking on VIU's Nanaimo campus

Your input is needed on the Student Affairs Foundation Plan

Student Affairs is developing its 2022-27 Foundation Plan, which will align with the six commitments found in VIU’s Strategic Plan, People, Place, Potential. You are invited to provide your thoughts on our draft Foundation Plan.

What is a foundation plan anyways?

A Foundation Plan is a document that informs the work of various departments at VIU. It is like a road map of what we want to accomplish over the next five years, with an outline of how we plan to get there. These are big ideas that the departments within Student Affairs will then use to guide their planning over the course of the Foundation Plan to support you as a VIU student in your academic and personal journey.

Why should it matter to me?

As a student, it’s important to have your say in the Student Affairs Foundation Plan. The Division of Student Affairs at VIU includes services that directly support students, including Accessibility Services, Assessment and Exam Services, Athletics and Recreation, the Centre for Experiential Learning (which includes internships and co-operative education opportunities in addition to student engagement), Counselling Services, the Health and Wellness Centre and Financial Aid and Awards, to highlight a few. As these services support many students’ experiences while studying at VIU, we want you to hear from you!
